soupman, your grounded from going near the cables, not allowed within 2 miles of the cables lol lol

On a serious note i had the same problem with my end once, but i got sorted , silly companies lol yes we can do with more speed, but when it messes the server,. not a good idea
and the router and modem you got might not be able to handle more speed just a thought lol

I think this may have been the first time ever that a madness event was not held.....all because of an internet provider.
....I'm having the DT's. no madness competition all weekend for me.....

Glad to hear the problem is fixed now.

Well, so far, so good, but I'm not (yet) convinced. I'm checking the modem/router every time I walk by the machine now, heh.

Yeah, CenturyLink is a pain.

If we could have gotten a static IP from Comcast without paying out the wazoo for a business line, I would have suggested we go with Comcast (they're really solid out here - I've used them for my home internet for years).

I have CenturyLink as well. I've not been happy for the past year to date. Been with them like 8 years now and I've been with them since they were Embarq and not had any serious problems with them and the service has always been good but, I'm noticing a lot of difference now. The last time I had a service call, was at the first of the year and they moved me to a clean line but now, it seems someone else has changed it for some reason and my signals keep coming from all over the area and/or, state.

I really don't trust service men. If one sets you one a certain line, another one on a service call can move you off of it, to different one, just as well. I'm seriously thinking of going back to ComCast but, I just can't afford them for what they want per speed right now as compared to what I get with CenturyLink. However, I do like having a static IP as compared to a dynamic one but, CL wants to charge me an extra $40 for it and I lose my plan if I do. It doesn't make sense to me for them doing business like that. That's the main reason for my not running a server anymore. Although, ComCast goes on the rag just like the rest of them do at times.
