I have been doing some missions and exploring The Underverse for a bit.
Tonight i got to Fort Knox Station near Austin(Neutral, belongs to Ali-Baba), when i left the station i was surrounded by Ali-Baba ships andthe station was also hostile. I tried to escape a few times with no success.
What can i do? can anyone help me please?

I was able to escape by using lots of decoys, left and reentered the system, and Ali-Baba ships were neutral again, but the station remains hostile.
My reputation with Ali-Baba is still neutral.

Freelancers start out neutral to Ali-Baba so you must have clipped one of their ships while fighting someone else. No worries, it takes a lot of shooting at them to make them perma-mad.
The station should have cleared red the next time you logged in.

For now i am just trying to do the Roads to Glory North.
I bought a Saucer last night, planning to give it a try today!

Put two shields on that saucer, nearly indestructible!

I finished North, Going to start South later today. I´m thinking about buying the Ebonhawk when i get to the last system.
Either that or a cruiser like the Purple Pyro. Any recommendations?

Oh, and i haven't found a shield nearly as good as the one that comes with the Saucer so far. I was hoping that the Ebonhawk comes with a good shield too.

See a [M] merchant ingame for the best sheilds and thrusters...and weaps

i was initially thinking of maybe joining the Merchants faction(haven't decided yet), i searched the forum for what the most important ups and downs for each faction are, but couldn't find much info for the major factions(other then lore), only a bit about the Merchants faction(superior technology).
What are the biggest advantages and disadvantages for joining any of the major factions?
Is staying a freelancer worth it?

I haven't played Freelancer for ages, and 99% SP. I tried Discovery for a bit but never used chat, so i am learning how to use it.
